Sharing for Fibromyalgia Awareness Month
May is fibromyalgia awareness month with the 12th being its designated day. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2003. It was when I received my diagnosis that I first heard of this wretched chronic illness. Part of my advocacy as a fibromyalgia patient leader is to educate those who do not have it and provide support to the newly diagnosed.
All month long I have been sharing fibromyalgia-related posts on Facebook.
I have also been raising awareness about fibromyalgia on Instagram

For fibromyalgia awareness day I held an all-day Twitterfest!

Also for Arthritis Awareness Month
May is also arthritis awareness month!! There are over 100 forms of arthritis!!!! I have psoriatic arthritis, a form that many have either never heard of or understand. I received this diagnosis a few months after my fibromyalgia diagnosis.
To educate the general public, I have shared some information on Facebook.

I have shared parts of my psoriatic arthritis story on Instagram.
I spent the first half of the month focused on fibromyalgia awareness, but I did get a few posts in about arthritis. Now that fibromyalgia awareness day has passed, it is time to ramp up my arthritis awareness. I probably won’t do a day-long Twitterfest, but be on the lookout for an announcement for a one hour Twitter Chat coming soon!

Well done you for raising awareness. Such a wonderful thing to do. x
Good for you for doing your part to raise awareness about psoriatic arthritis and fibromyalgia. I think both of these illnesses are misunderstood. We need our awareness improved.
Thank you and yes, they are very misunderstood.
Fibromyalgia sounds horrid, I have a few friends who suffer from it. Well done for raising awareness of it. It’s also Elhers Danlos Awareness month and my daughter has that. I just don’t have the energy this year to raise awareness though. I’m just looking at your elbows and in front of me are my daughters knees and they look identical. Psoriasis is horrid too. x Thanks for linking up to #WotW
They’re all awful. May is filled with so many chronic illness awareness initiatives. We do what we can, when we can. There’s been many years when I didn’t have the energy to write even one post. Hugs.
