About The Disabled Diva

I have multiple chronic diseases such as Psoriatic Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, and Endometriosis to name a few. For twelve years I followed my doctor’s protocols and never improved. Not only was there no improvement, my medications were making me sicker than I really was. In 2013 I made a change by discontinuing pharmaceutical treatments and turned to natural treatments, primarily medical marijuana. I am a wife and mother of two who currently homeschools our youngest child. I live in southern California and consider Disneyland to be my home.
I began blogging in 2012 as a form of therapy. Writing helped me sort out my feelings in regards to how my conditions were affecting my life. Most importantly I discovered that I wasn’t alone. My blog has come a long way since then. Through TheDisabledDiva.com I share the mistakes I have made throughout my journey and how I overcame or fixed them. I share products that help make my life and hopefully your life better. I also help others with a disability, chronic illness, or special needs plan a magical Disneyland vacation.
In addition to my own blog I am also a contributor for Psoriatic-Arthritis.com. I have also had articles published by Healthline and The Huffington Post. I have been interviewed by various podcasts like Special Mouse Podcast and Arisen Strength Podcast.
The purpose of this site is to help others like myself live our best lives possible by coming to terms with our conditions and how to think outside the box to find solutions for the problems we face on a daily basis. Life is filled with speed bumps and pot holes, even for those who aren’t disabled. My goal is to smooth out and fill as many as possible!
