Zeva the Diva prepares for adventure!

Hi! I am preparing to go on a road trip. My family and I are heading to southeastern New Mexico later this month to look for aliens!!! Okay, that’s not really why we’re going, but wouldn’t it be cool if we found some!!!??? As you know my mommy The Disabled Diva is pretty smart about knowing what she should bring along on vacation to keep her chronic conditions as happy as possible. In fact you should click here to read some of her tips!! But in the meantime, find out what she brings for me when I get to travel with her!

First the basics

The basics are what I must have to survive. Food and water!!!! To make things easier on my family my mommy has purchased some cool products to store my goodies! She bought portable bowls to feed me on the go. She even found this really cool thing that allows me to drink water while the car is moving and it won’t spill!!!!!! Most importantly for my safety we always bring along my doggy seat belt.

Dress to impress

Of course every diva needs to bring her best outfits and accessories. I have my own suitcase filled with my favorite dresses and bling. Because we are going somewhere where the weather is warmer than what I am used to, mommy has bought me shoes to keep my feet from getting burnt on the sidewalk.  Note to self, make make sure that she buys me some fuzzy boots if she ever gets the crazy idea to take me back to the snow.

Comfort and joy

When traveling by car I like to have a soft blanket to burrow in. I also like having a few of my favorite toys to chew on. The most important thing that I must always bring on a road trip is my family, because let’s face it without them the car would never leave the driveway!!!

  1. Zeva, have you ever traveled on Amtrak? My mom takes me on Amtrak and it is so cool! The conductors help mom and me onto the train and to our sleeper room. I get to play, eat, and sleep (of course) in bed 24/7! It’s fun looking out the window and watch the scenery go by so fast. Mom made me my own wallet for my travel papers. Since I’m a service dog, mom has to carry my vaccination record, her doctor’s letter stating why she needs me, and cards that explain what a service dog does and the Disabilities Act. Every time I hear a train whistle, I look at mom and wonder if it’s time for another vacation. I can’t wait for our next trip!
