If you’re like me and suffer from anxiety the holidays can be a pretty stressful time of year. Here’s a few tips to avoid stress this holiday season.

1. Avoid drama
Be choosy about who you spend your time with. Some people are just too fixated on drama and it can increase anxiety, it increases mine to a terrible extent. Spend time with people you know you can have fun with and won’t put too much stress on you. Friends who really want to hang out with you won’t make it stressful, they won’t care if you’ll go out for dinner or eat pizza while watching Christmas Vacation for the 50th time. All they should care about is having fun with you, not the stupid crap Kathy said 2 years ago.
2. Avoid crowds
Now, personally crowds are a mix for me. Sometimes they don’t get to me, sometimes they stress me out so badly that I feel like vomiting. If you’re at all like that, then I suggest Christmas shopping online. Some stores are just to small and then having tons of people going shopping in these small areas is just too much. Shopping online is an easier, stress free way to Christmas shop. Especially if you have that one kid who only wants stuff from Hot Topic, those stores are always too small, at least they are in California. Amazon is great for Christmas shopping, just sit in bed and press add to cart. Don’t need to fight anyone over a toy on Amazon.
3. Don’t procrastinate
Now, I’m terribly at this. I procrastinate a lot, I even procrastinated writing this post. Which I don’t suggest doing. Procrastinating can lead to a lot of stress and anxiety, so try you’re best to get it done as soon as possible, even if it’s just a few presents a day. It will make it a lot easier and a lot less stressful when you’ve got all the presents ready and don’t have to wait for the Amazon delivery guy to deliver it 2 days before Christmas.
I hope these tips can help you have a less stressful holiday season, it’s not a lot but these can make a big difference.
