You never know what will lead to a diagnosis. I just happened to wear flip-flops to a consultation with a rheumatologist for fibromyalgia, and it was my toenails that led to my psoriatic arthritis diagnosis.

Caring for them has always been a challenge until now.

Caring for Psoriatic Arthritis Toenails

The early years of dealing with thick and crumbling psoriatic arthritis toenails weren’t too bad. Mainly because I wasn’t the one caring for them. Instead, I went for a pedicure once a month.

It was after breaking several toes that professional pedicures became too painful. To this day, I cannot stand having anyone do anything but massage my feet.

This left me to deal with toenails that were difficult to cut and care for. Some of the issues I deal with are toenails that peel, flake, and crumble.

My psoriatic arthritis is symmetric. So when the big toenail on one-foot flakes and peels, so does the other. In 2017 I began using pemf treatments to combat inflammation from all of my chronic illnesses. Since then, the peeling has ceased, and I am down to one problematic toenail on each foot.

These toenails are incredibly thick, too thick for a traditional toenail clipper. And no matter how long I let them soak, it was never enough to make clipping them an easy task. Fed up with having them getting caught on blankets, snagged in socks, and hiding them, I found an at-home solution.

Podiatrist Toenail Clippers

I never looked beyond the basic nail clippers at my local drugstore. It apparently never crossed my mind that stronger and more effective clippers were available at a reasonable price. After purchasing a kit from Amazon, I wondered why I had never thought of looking there before.

My feet and I are thrilled with these podiatrist-quality toenail clippers. They do the job better efficiently and effectively within seconds. No more fretting about cutting or caring for my toenails.
