As promised I will host a one-hour psoriatic arthritis Twitter chat on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, from 2-3pm PST. Here is what to expect, what hashtag to use during the chat, and how you can help others with PsA feel a little less alone.

What’s a psoriatic arthritis Twitter chat?
A Twitter chat is when a group of people gathers together on Twitter to discuss a specific topic. Typically a host asks 5-10 questions throughout the chat. Everyone then responds to the questions with a hashtag to make finding the conversations during and after the chat easier. Retweeting or retweeting with a comment is also encouraged. If you get lost, it’s okay, it happens, just return to my profile page to see where we are at.
Two weeks ago, I hosted an all-day Twitter chat for Fibromyalgia. While it was a lot of fun and as much as I loved talking with people all day, it was exhausting!! That is why this and future chats I host will be limited to one hour. With that said, do not let the time of the chat keep you from participating if you are unable to make it at the designated time. The great part about a Twitter chat is that comments and conversations that take place afterward continue our mission of raising awareness.
How do I find the psoriatic arthritis Twitter chat?
At 2pm PST on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, pop over to my Twitter profile. Find it here! Each question will also have the hashtag #PsAChat to help you find it as well. Participants are encouraged to add it to their responses to help others find the conversations.
What will we tweet about?
My chat will consist of six questions that will be spaced out over the hour. Without giving away the questions, I will tell you that the purpose of my chat is to help the newly diagnosed feel less alone while telling the whole world about psoriatic arthritis.
If you participated in my fibromyalgia Twitter chat, you already have an idea of what to expect. Whether you did nor not, you should read my recap to see any questions you may have missed. Read it here.
All month long, I have been sharing bits of my psoriatic arthritis journey on Instagram. I have created my questions for Wednesday’s chat based on which posts got the most people talking and what they seemed most interested in.
How can I help?
Thank you for asking!! HaHa! There are several ways you can help me spread psoriatic arthritis awareness.
The first thing you can do is share this post on all of your social media accounts and email it to friends and family. Basically, tell everyone you know. A larger turnout equals more awareness spread!
Next, mark your calendar! Set an alarm! I have several alarms set so that a case pain brain doesn’t make me forget!! But seriously, do what you have to do to make sure you show up.
This brings me to the next step, show up!!! Not everyone is comfortable discussing psoriatic arthritis like we are. But when they see a group of people sharing honest reflections and opinions about living with this chronic illness, they begin to open up.
I look forward to chatting with you!
