Are you a member of The Disabled Diva’s Fitness Buddies?

Yes? Then scroll down for this month’s challenge!!!

If not, join now!

Why join?

We are a group of people, some who have chronic illnesses/pain and some who don’t, that like the support, encouragement, and accountability of others while we strive to meet our fitness goals.

This group is not about pushing our bodies to do what they can’t, but to instead finding out and celebrating what they CAN do!

It’s about creating healthy habits to improve our overall health despite our chronic illnesses.

Daily, we cheer each other on and share our wins and our struggles.

Monthly, I issue challenges. Whether you choose to participate in a challenge or not is up to you. Those who do take part in them earn entries to a drawing that takes place each challenge ends.

Ready to join us? Click here to join now!

Don’t want to join? That’s fine, I have laid out the entire challenge for you to follow along on your own. Just understand that only members of The Disabled Diva’s Fitness Buddies are eligible for the drawings.

November Challenge

Each day you will be prompted to give thanks for a particular area of your life. Follow the prompts and comment with your response in my Fitness Buddy group or follow the list below on your own. Note that only participating members of my Facebook group are eligible for the month end drawing and prizes.

The purpose of this challenge is to put focus on the good in our lives. It is too easy to point fingers at everything that is wrong or that hurts us. The more we allow that negativity to be at the forefront of our thoughts the harder it is to see how much we truly have to be thankful for. The impact this has on our mental health overflows into our physical health. My hope is that by the end of the month, your first inclination will be to think of what you are thankful for each day versus angry or annoyed by without being prompted.

How to play

To earn entries to the drawing members must comment on the daily post located in the group giving thanks for what is prompted for on that day. Comments must be made each day before midnight PST to count as an entry for the drawing. One entry is earned per day, unless a bonus entry is noted on a particular day. Those who comment every day (Nov. 1-30, 2019) will be entered into a drawing for a $10 eGift card. Those who comment 1-29 days will be entered into a drawing for a $5 eGift card. Anyone who qualified for the $10 drawing but did not win will be entered into the $5 drawing. There will be a total of two winners, one winner for each drawing. Winners have the choice of an Amazon or Starbucks eGift card. The drawings will take place in the group within a week of its completion.

Amazon, Starbucks, and Facebook are not a part of or affiliated with this challenge. Prizes are funded through commissions earned via affiliate links throughout this blog.

When I was first diagnosed with my chronic likenesses, I didn’t know anybody who had them. The chronic friends I later made helped me in ways that my non-chronic friends could never. Not because they wouldn’t want to, but because it is just something that you don’t get unless you get it. Today I want us to take a moment to give thanks for those who “get” our chronic lives. Click here to join the challenge and earn an entry!

Mistakes help us learn. No one is diagnosed with a chronic illness and leaves their doctor’s office knowing how to avoid every trigger or what limits their illness has set for them. To reach the point of enjoying my life more than I have ever since my first diagnosis, I made a lot of mistakes. And I am thankful for them because each and every one of them as taught me ways to improve the quality of my life and made it possible to help others.
