Why pain didn’t stop me from having a fabulous weekend

Chronic pain from fibromyalgia and psoriatic arthritis may require making modifications to how I do things, but it doesn’t stop me from doing what I want to do this last weekend.

As you know, I am still recovering from broken ribs and if you watched my review of Magic Muscle Ease you also know that I am having some issues with my right arm.

Yet despite the pain in my arm that can only be described as having a toothache in the bone and having a nerve used as dental floss, I managed to have a great time at Star War’s Galaxy Edge!

Working with not against pain

In many ways, my body felt like a rusty droid.

My joints and muscles were just beginning to recover from last weekend’s heatwave when June Gloom hit. While I enjoy the cool, foggy mornings, my joints don’t.

We had late-night reservations for Star War’s Galaxy Edge Disneyland on Saturday. Had it just been our family we would have slept in and taken our time, but we brought a guest and wanted him to have a full day in the park.

With one rib still on the mend, my energy level is still not where it needs to be to survive all day on my feet. While this meant bringing my wheelchair, it didn’t mean that I wouldn’t get a workout! Just look at those steps!!

While my family and our guest were on rides, I walked around the area outside the attraction they were on. I took pictures for my Disney lifestyle blog, shopped, and talked with cast members and other park guests.

Went on a few rides!! The Haunted Mansion, Soarin’ over California, “it’s a small world”, and Smuggler’s Run!

How did I survive 12 hours of my weekend in the park without my full pain management toolbox?

I listened to my body by:

  • resting when necessary and walked when my body allowed.
  • relying on my family to push my wheelchair when I couldn’t walk.
  • focusing my PEMF treatments on my worst pain areas.
  • staying ahead of the pain by applying Magic Muscle Ease on my arm, ribcage, shoulders, hips, knees, etc. throughout the day.
  • taking a full dose of Pain Potion before leaving home.
  • not forcing my body to do anything that it wasn’t ready for.

I love my pain management tools, PEMF therapy with Oska Pulse did a fantastic job of keeping the inflammation surrounding my ribcage low. Pain Potion and Magic Muscle Ease prevented the pain in my arm from worsening.

I needed all day Sunday to recover, but not from pain. My pain level was no different than before I left the house on Saturday morning. But boy was I tired!! Considering how much I put my body through, needing one day of rest was not a big deal. Had this happened two years ago before I began using PEMF therapy, I would have needed days or weeks to recover.

If you’ve never heard of or just want to know more about PEMF therapy, I invite you to check out my favorite portable device called Oska Pulse. Request my secret discount code here!
