A Peek Into My “On-The-Go” Chronic Pain Relief Bag

Take a peek into my “on-the-go” chronic pain relief bag!

What do I reach for when I am on the go and one or all of my chronic illnesses decide to flare up?

The answer might surprise you!

Why?

Because my chronic pain management plan is what could be described as unconventional.

It is no secret that I have been medicating with medicinal cannabis and CBD since 2013.

However, until marijuana-derived products are legal or permitted everywhere I want to go, I have to have some alternative options to get me through while away from home.

Thankfully, the following products do a pretty good job while I am out.

PEMF Therapy Device

My PEMF therapy device reduces pain and inflammation with pulsed electromagnetic fields.  I was skeptical when I was first asked to try it, but it soon won me over.

Used daily, it significantly reduces my pain from fibromyalgia, psoriatic arthritis, psoriasis, and coccydynia.

This drug-free device has thwarted many migraines and reduced the swelling in my spine. It also decreases how much pain I suffer from incoming storms or heatwaves.

While away from home, I run a treatment on my spine the moment I feel any inflammation around my spine. Depending on the severity, I may have to run multiple treatments.

Arnica Salve Is A Must-Have On-The-Go Chronic Pain Relief Product

Another must-have is my arnica salve stick from Earthley.  My family and I use this stick for all kinds of aches and bumps.

This product is amazing. Not just because it reduces pain, but because it is made with natural and organic ingredients.  And unlike most natural and organic products, this one is affordable.  I was floored to discover that a product that cost less than $6.00 could work as well as a $60.00 topical CBD oil.

While away from home, I use the Arnica salve stick on my neck, hips, and pretty much anywhere my body is aching.

Refillable Icepack And Wrap

At home, I use reusable and pliable ice packs, but on the go, I need something that doesn’t require the use of a freezer. I can find ice pretty much anywhere that serves iced beverages. I can fill my icepack for free and use the wrap to hold it over the area in need of relief.

Heating Devices

When my muscles demand heat, and I am not somewhere that I can use an electric heating pad, I used to slap on a heat patch. They were convenient, affordable, and effective.  I can’t tell you how many outings have been saved because of them. But there was one problem.

I didn’t need or want heat therapy for multiple hours. What I needed was an hour here or an hour there. Unfortunately, once a heat patch was opened, there was no turning it off or saving it for later. The solution was a portable battery-operated neck pad. As long as I have access to a portable charger or USB port, I have heat relief on demand for as little or as long as I need.

Neck Support

To provide support and prevent pain and migraines, I carry a neck brace. I currently use an inflatable neck traction device as soon as I notice tension in my neck.

How Do Mobility Aids Provide On-The-Go Chronic Pain Relief?

My mobility aids belong on this list because without them I would not be able to attempt 99% of the things I do. They do more than help me get around; they prevent flares that would land me in the hospital if I had to depend on my body.
