Protein bars are a perfect way to start the day
I like starting my day off with one or two protein balls. They go great with my glass of unsweetened iced-coffee with half and half. They keep me energized and full until lunch.
Mid-day protein bar pick me up
Protein balls provide a much-needed energy boost on days where I feel sluggish. They may be small, but they are filling. The best part is they help through my afternoon slump. They are perfect for putting inside a reusable container or Ziplock baggie and tossing it into your bag.
Protein bar variations
I make mine with a variety of Kashi cereals. It prevents my family from becoming bored with one type and adds variety to our diet.
Arthritis hack for making protein bars
There are times when my arthritis gets in the way of rolling protein balls. When this happens I line a baking tray with parchment paper and press the mix in, chill, then cut into bars. Another alternative is to ask your children or spouse to mix and roll/press! Make eating healthy a family affair by including them in the process of making their favorite treats!
However the job gets done, be sure to make two or more batches. These delicious protein bars go fast in my house!
I hope you enjoy!
