Susan asks: “This may seem like a silly question, but, my medications cause my mouth to become very dry. I have heard that bottle water is expensive in the parks and wonder if it is possible to stay hydrated without spending all of my souvenir money on water?”
This is not a silly question at all!!! You are correct in that bottled water in the parks is pricey! I too suffer from medication induced dry mouth and have some tips for keeping you hydrated without emptying your wallet.
Tip #1: If you do not mind tap water, there are drinking fountains located all over the Disneyland Parks. Carry a refillable water bottle and fill it up as needed. Also all restaurants and quick service eateries will provide you with a cup of water for free if you ask! The same is true if you just need a cup of ice to cool your water down.
Tip #2: If you are like me and sensitive to the taste of water, bring your own. I bring an insulated collapsible cooler filled with my favorite brand of water bottles. I usually freeze one or two to keep the others cool throughout my day. During the summer I freeze all the bottles that I bring as they will melt fast in the scorching southern California heat.
Hope this helps reduce your stress when it comes to planning your first or next visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
